The Planet Today is a news project that covers the key events in Ukraine and the world three times a day: at 6:50, 12:50 and 18:50 Kyiv time. This page explains the rules we work by.

Who we are

Publisher: private project, Ukraine. The project is funded by advertising and reader support. We are not affiliated with any political party and do not publish commissioned content.

How we choose stories

We pick events that matter to our readers in Ukraine and the region: security, peace talks, the economy, prices, government decisions, technology.
We prefer facts that affect people's lives over loud statements with no consequences.
Each edition has 4–9 stories, with the most important first.

Sources and verification

Our stories are based on reports from news agencies, major media outlets and official statements by public bodies.
We name the source in the headline or text (e.g. FT, WSJ, Bloomberg, the Office of the President, the State Emergency Service).
If information is so far confirmed by only one source, we say who reported it.
We do not present rumours or reports from anonymous channels as established facts.

Facts and opinions

We report events and statements without adding our own commentary. Quotes are reproduced accurately and attributed.

How we use AI

Illustrations in our videos and cover images are AI-generated and labelled “AI”.
Translations into Ukrainian and English are automatic and labelled “Auto-translated”.
Sections (Ukraine, World, Economy, etc.) are assigned automatically from the headline.
News texts are written and checked by the newsroom. AI does not invent or add facts.

Corrections

If we make a mistake, we correct the story as soon as possible and note significant corrections in the text. Report an error at redakciya@theplanettoday.news or with the “Report an error” link at the bottom of every page.

Advertising

Advertising is always labelled “Advertisement” or “Partner content”.
Advertisers have no influence on which stories we choose or what they say.
We do not advertise casinos, betting, pyramid schemes or dubious medical products.
